JIS G4051 Grade S20C is a low carbon steel with a carbon content of 0.18-0.23%. It is commonly used in machinery parts, shafts, gears, and bolts due to its low cost and good machinability. It can be heat treated for increased hardness and strength. S20C steel is also known as AISI 1020 steel and is equivalent to ASTM A29/A29M-91 1020 and EN 10083-1 Grade C22E.

• Chemical composition: The chemical composition of S20C steel includes carbon, silicon, manganese, phosphorus and sulfur. Low carbon content, only 0.18-0.23%, suitable for processing and welding.
• Mechanical properties: excellent mechanical properties, with high hardness, strength and toughness, suitable for manufacturing high-load and high-pressure parts.
• Heat treatment: can be adjusted by heat treatment to obtain higher hardness and strength. Proper heat treatment can improve the mechanical properties and corrosion resistance of steel, while improving its processing performance.
• Processing performance:  easy to process and weld, suitable for manufacturing various types of mechanical parts. Due to its low carbon content and good processing performance, processing costs and time can be reduced.
• Application: used in machinery manufacturing, automation, electronics industry and other fields. Common applications include the manufacture of bearings, gears, chains, guides, shafts and connecting rods.

Application

1): Can be used in many fields such as building, automobile, shipbuilding, petrochemical, machinery, medicine, food, electric power, energy, space, building and decoration, etc.
2): Can be made into mould template, mortise pin, column.
3): This kind of steel have good mechanical property, is widely used in structural parts which may support stress alternation, especially made into some connecting rods, bolts, wheel gear.
4): This kind of steel is the most common blanks and materials of shaft parts.Its die welding material model is CMC-E45.

Process of product:

Check the raw materia→Blank → Grind the burr of blanked material → Heat in the intermediate frequency heating furnace → Align → Quench → Temper → Inspect → Package
