Product Introduction

JIS S45C is a medium carbon steel that is commonly used in machinery parts, such as gears, shafts, crankshafts, and bearings. It is also used in the manufacture of tools, dies, and molds. The heat treatment of JIS S45C steel can improve its hardness, strength, toughness, and machinability. This steel has a good combination of strength and ductility, making it suitable for a wide range of applications. It has a tensile strength of 570-700 MPa (megapascal) and a Brinell hardness of 170-210 HB. JIS S45C steel has good weldability, but it is prone to cracking during quenching and tempering. Its chemical composition includes 0.42-0.48% carbon, 0.15-0.35% silicon, 0.60-0.90% manganese, 0.030% phosphorus, 0.035% sulfur, and 0.15-0.35% copper.
