S45C JIS G 4051-2016

S45C is a Japanese standard carbon steel that belongs to the JIS G 4051-2016 standard. This steel grade contains a high level of carbon and is commonly used in the manufacturing of machine parts that require high strength and durability. It has good machinability, and can be easily welded, forged, and heat-treated. Its chemical composition includes 0.42-0.48% carbon, less than 0.40% silicon, less than 0.60% manganese, less than 0.030% phosphorus, and less than 0.035% sulfur. Its tensile strength is around 570-700 Mpa, and its hardness is in the range of 160-220 HBW. S45C is widely used in manufacturing gear shafts, camshafts, crankshafts, and other mechanical parts.
