What Is The Difference Between Polished Stainless Steel Pipe And Unpolished Pipe

We know that the processing technology of stainless steel pipes includes polishing, so what is the difference between polished stainless steel pipes and unpolished ones? What is the difference in use? Polished stainless steel pipes are better in terms of material than unpolished stainless steel. Polishing actually means that the steel pipe made is a bit rough and not smooth enough, so it needs to be polished to make it appear smooth, so that it will appear smoother and have a higher appearance. Many polished stainless steel pipes are Austrian stainless steel containing nickel, which has strong corrosion resistance, but the price is expensive. It is mainly used in industrial and outdoor decoration, because these places have higher requirements on the material of stainless steel pipes.

There are actually two common polishing methods. One is mechanical treatment called stainless steel pipe polishing, and the other is called electroplating, which is chemically treated. Stainless steel tube polishing uses flexible polishing tools and abrasive particles or other polishing media to modify the surface of the workpiece, which cannot improve the accuracy of the processed product. Electroplating is a process in which a metal film is attached to the surface of a metal or other material by using electrolysis. The polishing and electroplating of the inner polished stainless steel pipe can prevent corrosion, improve wear resistance, reflectivity and enhance aesthetics. The finished product effects of the two will also be different, and of course there are differences in the cost of construction. Therefore, it can be processed according to the use and requirements of the product.

Ordinary stainless steel pipes are of chemical grade, and ordinary pickled surfaces look white. Mainly used in petrochemical, sewage treatment and other industries. The surface of the inner and outer polished tubes is polished with a polishing material, and it looks bright, just like a mirror. It is mainly used in equipment that takes viscous liquid and gas, such as printing and dyeing, pulp and other industries. The main difference between these materials is the difference in chemical composition. 316L stainless steel pipe has stronger corrosion resistance than 304 stainless steel pipe and 304L, and the one with L indicates lower carbon content and stronger flexibility. The choice of stainless steel pipe ultimately depends on the environmental requirements we use, because the cost of stainless steel pipes with different grades is also high, and choosing the right one is the key.
