What is the difference between stainless steel 304 and stainless steel 202?
(1) Different material composition:The national standard model of 202 stainless steel is 1Cr18Mn8Ni5N, with a nickel content of about 4% and a manganese content of about 8%. It is a nickel-saving stainless steel; while the national standard model of 304 stainless steel is 0Cr18Ni9, containing more than 18% chromium and more than 8% nickel.
(2) Different physical properties: The tensile strength of 202 stainless steel is σb (MPa) ≥ 520, and the conditional yield strength is σ0.2 (MPa) ≥ 275; while the tensile strength of 304 stainless steel is σb (MPa) ≥ 515-1035, and the conditional yield strength is σ0.2 (MPa) ≥ 205.
(3) Different corrosion resistance: Since the chromium content in 304 stainless steel is greater than that in 202 stainless steel, its corrosion resistance is better.
(4) Different application ranges: 202 stainless steel is widely used in building decoration, municipal engineering, highway guardrails, hotel facilities, shopping malls, glass handrails, public facilities and other places; 304 stainless steel is suitable for food processing, storage and transportation, as well as plate heat exchangers, bellows, household items, auto parts, medical equipment, etc.
