316 Stainless Steel Tubes
Grade 316 is the standard molybdenum content grade, and the total production of Austenitic stainless steel is only second to 304. Molybdenum makes 316 have better overall corrosion resistance than 304, especially in chloride environment with higher pitting and crevice corrosion resistance. 316L, 316 low-carbon version, with high resistance to sensitization (grain boundary carbide precipitation) immunity. It is widely used in the petroleum, natural gas and chemical industries because of its cost-effective corrosion resistance and ease of manufacture. There is usually no significant price difference between 316 and 316L stainless steels. The austenite structure also gives these brands excellent toughness, even at low temperatures. Compared with cr-ni Austenitic stainless steel, 316L stainless steel has higher creep, fracture stress and tensile strength at elevated temperatures.
