304/304H can be easily welded and processed in standard workshop manufacturing practices.
Cold forming:
This alloy has good ductility and is easy to form. Cold working operations will increase the strength and hardness of the alloy, and may make it slightly magnetic.
Hot forming:
For most hot working processes, it is recommended to operate at a temperature of 1652-2102 ° F (750-1150 ° C). To achieve maximum corrosion resistance, the material should be annealed at least 1900 ° F (1038 ° C) and quenched with water or rapidly cooled by other means after hot working.
