A: The steel pipe is divided into thick wall pipe and thin wall pipe, the formula for calculating the internal pressure is different,K=D/d ≤1.2 pipe is called thin wall pipe; A pipe with K=D/d>1.2 is called a thick-walled pipe.
The maximum allowable internal pressure of thin-walled pipe [P] is calculated by the following formula: [P] =2[σ]φS/(d+S) : [σ]-- the allowable stress of the material; φ-- weld coefficient, for seamless pipes,φ=1; S-- pipe wall thickness; d-- inside diameter of pipe.
The maximum allowable internal pressure of a thick-walled pipe [P] is calculated by the following formula: [P] = [σ] (K^2-1)/(K^0.5 K^2) where: K=D/d
