Heat Treatmen
Fortunately, 321 stainless plate is very amenable to heat treatment. It can be annealed at temperatures between 1850-2050°F, which serves to both restore its ductility and toughness, as well as to reduce the likelihood of stress corrosion cracking. Additionally, this material can be hardened through the process of cold working, which involves subjecting it to a high degree of mechanical pressure.
