How to distinguish stainless steel 316 and 304?

Identification by chemical qualitative method

The chemical qualitative method is an identification method to identify whether the magnetic stainless steel contains nickel. The method is to dissolve small pieces of stainless steel in aqua regia, dilute the acid solution with clean water, add ammonia water to neutralize, and then gently inject nickel reagents. If there is a red velvet substance floating on the liquid surface, it indicates that the stainless steel contains nickel; If there is no red velvet material, that is to prove that there is no nickel in stainless steel (but because the nickel content in stainless steel is low, generally only a few percent, the nickel content is not easy to reveal or determine how much, generally must be tested with standard samples several times to master)
