316 stainless steel sheet is a commonly used grade of stainless steel and is also known as Marine Grade stainless steel. It is a high corrosion resistant steel that contains molybdenum, which increases the resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion in chloride environments. The sheet is available in various thicknesses and sizes, and can be used in a wide range of applications including marine hardware, chemical processing equipment, food processing and medical equipment. 316 stainless steel plate is also readily weldable and can be utilized in environments where welding is required.
