1: Gas cutting characteristics: like ordinary steel plates, NM400 steel can be gas cutting processing, with good gas cutting characteristics, in order to prevent the steel plate from cracking, the gas pressure and oxygen should be selected, and the cutting speed is lower. In special cases, it is recommended to preheat cutting, and the preheat temperature during cutting is 60℃-90℃.

2 : Cold forming characteristics: Despite the high strength and hardness of the steel plate, its cold bending performance is good, and the steel plate can be cold formed. In order to prevent cracking at the edge of the steel plate during cold working, the flame cutting edge or shear edge in the bending area needs to be polished.

3 : Hot forming characteristics: The steel plate has good hot processing performance, and the steel plate needs to be tempered at low temperature after hot processing, and the tempering temperature is 250℃-350℃ (compared with the Swedish DILLIOUR400V steel, the hot forming temperature of the material is 150℃ higher).

4 : Machining characteristics: The steel plate has good cutting and shearing properties. In the steel plate machining, should be based on the hardness of the steel plate and the use of cutting tools, a reasonable choice of feed amount and feed speed, usually choose the tool material for high-speed steel or carbide, for cutting and grinding, need to use carbide surface tools.

5 : Welding method: The steel plate can be welded by ordinary arc welding or gas shielded welding to obtain satisfactory welded joints. When welding high-hardness steel plates, it is recommended to preheat the steel plate, and the preheating temperature is shown in the welding specifications.
