JIS G4051 S45C Steel

JIS G4051 S45C Steel ，Japanese standard JISG4051-79 (94), high quality carbon steel, made of all-static steel made from electric furnaces, flat furnaces or pure oxygen turntable furnaces. The metallography of the steel is uniform and has no structural defects. With a carbon content of more than 0.4%, steel has very good wear resistance but reduced ductility. Quenching is easy to deform and crack. By running this steel, the cutting performance of this type of carbon steel can be improved.

Utilization:

S45C is widely used in mechanical manufacturing, and the mechanical properties of the steel are very good. But this is a medium carbon steel, hardening performance is not good. Steel No. 45 can harden HRC4246. Therefore, if surface hardness is required and the superior mechanical properties of 45 # steel are to be played, the 45 # steel surface is usually baked and quenched so that the desired surface hardness can be obtained.
