Round Bar Material Base S45C

S45C is a medium carbon steel grade commonly used for manufacturing various machine parts, such as gears, axles, and shafts. It is a Japan standard steel and is equivalent to AISI 1045 Steel in the USA.

The chemical composition of S45C steel is as follows:

Carbon: 0.42%-0.48%
Silicon: 0.15%-0.35%
Manganese: 0.6%-0.9%
Phosphorus: max 0.03%
Sulfur: max 0.035%

The material is processed by hot rolling or forging and has good machinability, weldability, and toughness. The recommended heat treatment to achieve the desired mechanical properties is quenching and tempering. The typical hardness of S45C after hardening and tempering is 55-60 HRC.

S45C round bar material is commonly available in diameters ranging from 6mm to 120mm. The material has a smooth surface finish, high dimensional accuracy, and can be easily cut and drilled with standard tools. It is widely used in various industries, including automotive, aerospace, construction, and manufacturing.
