S45c Metal

(1)S45C is Japanese standard JIS G4051-79(94), high quality carbon steel, the use of electric furnace, open furnace or pure oxygen converter steelmaking process made of all static steel, with uniform quality, no defects and other characteristics. The carbon content of the steel is ≥0.4%, excellent wear resistance, but the ductility is reduced, and the quenching is easy to deformation and cracking, so the heat treatment is extremely important, and it must be cooled after the fire to avoid the occurrence of temper brittleness. The machinability of such carbon steel can be improved by spheroidizing treatment.

(5) Quenching and tempering specification Quenching temperature 820~870℃, water cooling, tempering temperature 550~650℃, hot cooling.

(6) Mechanical property parameters of S45C: tensile strength >686MPa, yield strength >490MPa, elongation >17%, shrinkage >45%, impact toughness >78J/cm, hardness 201~269HB.
