304l and 304 have the following three differences:

1. The price is different. 304L stainless steel prices are generally higher than 304 stainless steel prices. Therefore, if 304L is used instead of 304, the cost will be increased in terms of price.

2. Different chemical composition. The most basic is that the carbon content of 304L stainless steel is less than 0.03, and the carbon content of 304 is less than 0.08.

3, different mechanical properties. Compared with 304L mechanical properties, this steel grade is the steel grade obtained by reducing the carbon content of 304 to less than 0.03%, and its general characteristics are almost the same as 304, but 304L stainless steel can inhibit the sensitization caused by the precipitation of chromium carbide between 500 ~ 900oC, improve the sensitivity of intergranular corrosion caused by welding, etc. Therefore, it is suitable for large-scale welding construction materials and pipe fittings materials that need to be used directly after welding. The biggest feature of stainless steel is to improve the intergranular corrosion sensitivity, reducing the carbon content to the welding site does not produce practical thermal sensitization problems.
