ASTM A240 TP304 is a standard specification for chromium and chromium-nickel stainless steel plate, sheet, and strip used for pressure vessels and for general applications. It specifies the chemical composition, mechanical properties, and other requirements for stainless steel grades TP304, TP304L, TP304H, TP316, TP316L, TP316H, TP321, TP321H, TP347, and TP347H. The most commonly used grade is TP304, which is a non-magnetic austenitic stainless steel with good corrosion resistance, high-temperature strength, and excellent welding and forming characteristics. The thickness of the stainless steel plate can range from 0.3mm to 100mm, and the width can be up to 2000mm. Typical applications for ASTM A240 TP304 stainless steel plate include chemical processing equipment, food processing equipment, heat exchangers, and architectural applications.
