ASTM A240 Type 304 Plate is a standard specification for Chromium and Chromium-Nickel Stainless Steel Plate, Sheet, and Strip for Pressure Vessels and for General Applications. Type 304 Stainless Steel is an austenitic grade that contains 18% chromium and 8% nickel. It is the most versatile and widely used stainless steel grade, with excellent corrosion resistance, formability, and weldability characteristics.
