Sus 304 stainless steel is a type of austenitic stainless steel that contains chromium and nickel. It is the most commonly used stainless steel in the world, due to its excellent corrosion resistance, strength, and formability. Sus 304 stainless steel is also known as 18/8 stainless steel, because it contains 18% chromium and 8% nickel by weight. It can be used in a wide range of applications, including kitchenware, food processing equipment, chemical processing, and architectural purposes.
- Chemical composition: The chemical composition of SUS 304 stainless steel is: chromium (Cr) 18-20%, nickel (Ni) 8-10.5%, iron (Fe) allowance, and a small amount of carbon (C) and manganese (Mn).
- Mechanical properties: high mechanical properties. Its tensile strength can reach 520-530 MPa, yield strength is 215-245 MPa, and elongation is 40-60%.
- Corrosion resistance: can resist corrosion in ordinary atmospheric environment, but also can resist the erosion of many chemical substances, such as salt water, nitric acid, sulfuric acid and so on.
- Welding performance: easy to weld, you can use common welding methods. It is not easy to crack after welding, maintaining the mechanical properties and corrosion resistance of the material
