The wear resistance of qualified NM600 wear-resistant steel obtained by the best heat treatment process is studied. The weight loss of niobium test steel is lower, which indicates that the addition of niobium element is beneficial to improve the resistance. The wear resistance of the martensitic structure was improved by grain refinement and precipitation strengthening of niobium. In view of the phenomenon that the wear loss rate decreases when the impact work is higher, a new wear resistance mechanism of the wear layer is proposed, which mainly includes buffering, lubrication and protection of the wear chips.

The wear process of materials is a complex failure process coupled by many factors. Through the comparative analysis of different factors, the idea of improving the wear resistance of materials is put forward. When the impact work of different energy acts on the surface of the material, the surface of the material shows different wear characteristics. When the impact energy is low (0.5J), the wear resistance is improved by increasing the surface hardness of the material. When the impact power is medium (2.5J), it is preferred to ensure that the material has good toughness; When the impact power is high (5J), it is necessary to ensure that the material has good toughness while having high hardness.
