Wear plate 400
NM400 is a wear-resistant steel plate produced in China and is popular in the Middle East and Africa. A kind of NM400 wear-resistant steel is hot rolled, and then the plates are heat treated using direct quenching and tempering and reheat quenching and tempering techniques. Impact testing was performed using an instrumented impact testing machine. The microstructure and fracture morphology of the samples were studied using a combination of optical microscopy, transmission electron microscopy and scanning electron microscopy. NM400 has high mechanical strength, 3 to 5 times that of ordinary low alloy steel plates, and can significantly increase surface hardness, usually reaching 360 to 450HB.
