1.0601 C60 60 Structural steel

C60 is a high-precision carbon spring steel with excellent metallurgical quality (high purity and uniformity), good surface quality (strict control of surface defects and decarbonization), precise shape and size. After heat treatment or cold drawing hardening, high strength, hardness, elasticity and appropriate toughness, plasticity can be obtained, in the same surface state and fully quenched, fatigue limit is not worse than alloy spring steel. However, compared with alloy spring steel, C60 steel hardenability is general, smaller size can be used oil quenching or water quenching, larger size when the oil quenching is not permeable, water quenching deformation, cracking tendency is larger, large section parts are generally hardened by water quenching oil cold or normalizing treatment, so the steel is widely used in the manufacture of smaller size springs.

C60 spring steel Chemical composition:

Carbon C: 0.57~0.65%

Silicon Si: ≤0.40%

Manganese Mn: 0.60~0.90%

P: ≤0.045%

Sulfur S: ≤0.045%

Chromium Cr: ≤0.40%

Nickel Ni: ≤0.40%

Molybdenum Mo: ≤0.10%
