S50C Steel Plate

S50C steel is a high-strength medium carbon steel, low cold deformation plasticity, poor weldability, hardenability, but no temper brittleness, cutting performance is acceptable. Generally used in normalizing or quenching, tempering, for the manufacture of high wear resistance requirements, dynamic load and impact of little mechanical workpiece and spring, such as forged gear, tie rod, roll, shaft, friction disk, agricultural digging share, heavy load mandrel and so on.

peculiarity

High quality medium carbon steel, made of pure static steel by electric furnace, open furnace or pure oxygen converter steelmaking process, has the characteristics of uniform microstructure. The steel carbon content (mass fraction, %) ≥0.4, excellent wear resistance, ductility reduction, quenching easy performance and cracking, so quenching is extremely important, and tempering must be quenched to avoid tempering brittleness.

Delivery status

Delivered in a non-heat-treated or heat-treated (annealed, normalized or high-temperature tempering) condition. Where delivery in heat treatment condition is required, it shall be indicated in the contract, and if not indicated, delivery shall be made without heat treatment
