1.8159 alloy steel, also known as 51CrV4, has excellent fatigue resistance and is widely used in the manufacture of springs and other mechanical parts. The alloy steel can obtain different properties after heat treatment. The following is a specific introduction of the effect of heat treatment process on performance:

1. Solid solution Annealing: heating and holding at 830-860℃ for 4-6 hours, and then slow cooling, can eliminate process residual stress, improve workability, but also improve its toughness and plastic deformation capacity.

2. Normalizing (Quenching) : After heating and holding at 860-870℃ for a period of time (the time is determined by the thickness of the plate), rapid cooling (water-cooled or oil-cooled) can improve the hardness and strength of the material, but it is easy to produce defects such as internal stress or organizational instability.

3. The first Tempering: tempering the normalized alloy steel at 200-300℃ for 4 hours, depending on the required performance of the alloy steel, so that it has a certain strength and toughness, but also improve its impact toughness, so that the spring resilience and overall strength to maintain balance.

4. The second tempering: tempering at 540-680 ° C, used to eliminate residual internal stress, while improving fatigue resistance, the specific temperature also depends on the required structural adjustment.
