AISI/SAE 1055 High Carbon Steel
1055 steel is commonly used for applications that require a combination of high strength and toughness, such as gears, shafts, axles, and bearings. It is also used in the manufacturing of tools and blades, including knives
The following are the main specifications of the product:
- Chemical composition: C: 0.50-0.60, Mn: 0.60-0.90, P: 0.04max, S: 0.05max.
- Mechanical properties: The hardness range is 170-210 HBW (cold drawn), the tensile strength is 680-830 MPa, the yield strength is 550-690 MPa, and the elongation is 10-20%.
- Characteristics: Good wear resistance, toughness and strength, can be quench and temper to achieve the required mechanical properties.
- Application: Widely used in cutting tools, springs, saw blades, saw blades, brazing wire and other fields, as well as for production tools and parts.
