The composition of NM450 steel plate: carbon C :0.37~1.05%; Silicon Si:0.15~0.50%; Manganese Mn:1.30~2.10%; Sulfur S: Allowable residual content ≤0.040%.

The heat treatment process of NM450 steel plate is: tempering. Due to the low carbon content, it is necessary to add a small amount of deoxidation elements (such as Al, Ti). When the carbon content and alloying elements increase, the hardness, strength, toughness and fatigue strength also increase, but the plasticity decreases. Therefore, by controlling the heating temperature and adjusting the chemical composition, different strength products are obtained. The quenching and tempering of the product adopts conventional quenching and tempering specifications.
