Product Introduction

S45C is a Japanese carbon steel standard, also known as AISI 1045, and is commonly used in machinery parts, construction and automotive industries. ASTM refers to the American Society for Testing and Materials, which sets standards for a variety of materials, including steel. In the case of S45C, ASTM equivalent grades are ASTM A29/A29M and ASTM A108.

Its specifications are as follows:

1. Chemical composition: Carbon content is between 0.42% and 0.48%, silicon content is not more than 0.40%, manganese content is between 0.60% and 0.90%, and contains a small amount of phosphorus and sulfur.

2. Mechanical properties: the maximum tensile strength is above 550 MPa, the minimum yield strength is above 350 MPa, the elastic modulus is about 210 GPa.

3. Heat treatment: can be subjected to various types of heat treatment, such as quenching, tempering, normalizing, etc., which can adjust its hardness and strength.

4. Impact toughness: The impact toughness of S45C steel is strong, that is, it is not easy to break when subjected to external impact, which can ensure its safety and reliability during use.
